Tuesday, May 19, 4:30pm: BOOK SIGNING/READING FOR THE NEW GRAPHIC SOCCER BOOK, LIONEL MESSI’S WORLD CUP TRIUMPH, by Nyack author Christopher Barish. Sports historian Barish will present his riveting narrative of the most celebrated soccer game by the greatest soccer player in history, in the greater historical context of the important role of the sport throughout the world. Monday, May 11, 5-6:30pm: BOOK SIGNING/READING OF NEW GRAPHIC NOVEL CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT, by Victoria Setian. Nyack Library, Nyack NY.
Video game designer Victoria Setian will present her debut graphic novel of the horror classic updated for middle/high-schoolers ages 13-17. Teens who attend receive a community participation credit. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Please call the Nyack Library Children’s Room to register. Bonus: Meet the characters and world of Children of the Night in a free prequel mini-adventure game available now at victoriasetian.itch.io.

Sunday, March 15, 3–3:45pm. Magic Show with R David Robinson. For ages 4-7 but older okay, too. R. David is a NYC-based master magician and—actor, clown, and balloon twister— who has created children’s shows in the NYC-metropolitan area for decades. He was assistant to renowned magician David Copperfield and performs each year for the Morgan Library Christmas Show in NYC. Midwinter Vacation Activities

—Wed Feb 18, 3pm–? The Hobbit Listening Party. 8+, and adults welcome, too. Listen to a terrific recording by a bunch of great actors. Bring your friends and have a listen, please text to sign up by the night before.

—Friday, Feb 20—Sewing Circle, 3–4pm. 8+. Kids create an animal pillow with one of Heron Heath’s easy-to-use kits (choose Churchill the Chatty Cat, Winnie the Wry Worm, Robert the Ornery E Raccoon, or Purl the Fancy Tiger (new). 15.95. Sunday Feb 22, 3pm-4pm, Move Like You! A Workshop for Children
with Lazuli Leith, for ages 5– 9, $25. Children will use movement to explore self-expression, connection with others, play, and reaffirm the magic that can unfold when we...move like ourselves. Lazuli Leith is a Nyack-based dance artist and elementary educator who received her degree in dance and performance from Bennington College. She currently works in Rockland County as an elementary school movement, games, and drama teacher.

New! Buttercup Wednesdays Weekly Mom’s Group. Beginning Wednesday, February 19. Being together with other mothers— to share ideas, questions and concerns, info, solutions, frustrations, laughter—can be so helpful at the beginning especially but all along the magnificent and ever-evolving journey of motherhood. All-age children are welcome. I’ll send a notice to you all when we fix on the time, then please text to sign up if you can.
